Close to 25,000 Experiencing Power in Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Intense Weather Systems
Nearly 25,000 homes in south-east Queensland woke up experiencing outages on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms passed over the area, bringing powerful gusts reaching 109km/h.
Substantial Ice Stones and Extensive Damage
Locals reported large ice chunks measuring up to 7cm in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across the state had been hit with significant hail.

Utility workers were attempting to repair power throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews deployed to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.
Southern State's Storm Challenges
Simultaneously, around one thousand energy customers in the southern state also faced power outages after the metropolitan area saw its wettest day in 18 months.
Rescue organizations handled nearly 600 requests for assistance across the region, mostly for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

At one point on Sunday, in excess of twenty-eight thousand electricity consumers in the state were without power.
Weather Forecast
Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along large portions of Queensland's east this week as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with continued severe weather risk predicted across different parts of both areas.
Medical Alert
Medical authorities warned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
This alert comes after past events where similar conditions led to major medical consequences in the region.
